Continue to promote retail development through appropriate demographics control in order to keep Wylie shoppers in Wylie instead of having to go to Plano. More restaurants and popular retail options means more tax revenue (both property and sales tax) for the city.
Attract Quality Residential and Commercial Development
For the last 3 years, while on the Planning and Zoning Commission , I have fought to raise the bar for higher end development (both commercial and residential) with improved structural and aesthetic zoning requirements.
Timely Bond Project Completion
It is important that the wishes of the voters, which were made clear with the recent bond election, are executed quickly and efficiently. The timely completion of these projects is important to the citizens and also further encourage developers and retail businesses to locate quality projects in Wylie.
Protect Property Values
My actions on the Planning and Zoning commission have all been driven by desire to protect our property values. The underlying premise to keeping our property values at the ideal level is to ensure that we continue to demand more of developers, attract higher quality developers, and enforce strict building codes.
Effective Code Enforcement
Common sense says that we have to enforce our codes. A beautiful and appealing Wylie will be a benefit to us and all future residents.
City and WISD Cooperation
I feel it is incumbent on the City and school district to work together to maximize assets. By working together we can minimize expenses and save our tax dollars.
Support Parks & Rec. Programs
Green space is important to the quality of life to our children and all citizens of Wylie. Kids who have many outlets for their energy are more likely to become good and productive citizens and less likely to be in trouble.
